Don’t Forget the Groom!

“Does a young woman forget her jewelry, a bride her wedding ornaments? Yet my people have forgotten me, days without number.” Jeremiah 2:31-33

Do we take the time to spend with the very source and essence of our lives, our heavenly Bridegroom that we apply to the things of this world. We know the amount of time and resources, that brides apply to the preparation of their wedding day. Yet we so easily forget the most important preparation of all. Let us stop and take the time now; God is everywhere and in everything, how could we forget? Let us pray…

The Covering

“And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,”
Ephesians 1:21-23

Jesus Christ is the head of the church. The church is under His feet, was made for Him and is called ‘His Bride’. You cannot profess to be a christian, and not submit to the authority and sovereignty of Jesus Christ. Any establishment that calls itself a church, should submit the teachings of the head of the church. If not then maybe a different name might be handy!

Called Out

“To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours:” 1 Corinthians 1:1-3

Christ the Bridegroom, sanctifies His church. He is holy and His choice of His bride (the church), qualifies her to be all that He is. Since He is holy and righteous and has given His name to His bride, she is sanctified and bearing His name qualifies and presents her as holy and righteous also. Calling on the name of Christ and calling ourselves (the church) of Him, should bear the evidence of all that He represents.

The Wedding Ceremony

“This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church.” Ephesians 5:31-33

This is a blog about the ultimate wedding and marriage. Who best to set the stage than Christ Himself our Spiritual Bridegroom.  We will glean from His word the Bible as we prepare ourselves for that wonderful day. Get ready, pick  up your trains (ladies) and fix your collar (gentlemen). And of we go to the ‘Marriage supper of the Lamb’…

“Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.”
Revelation 19:8-10
